About Little Blossoms Stitch

Little Blossoms Stitch is named for the effect it creates, which mimics round blossoms on a trailing vine. It also has the look of pompom garland or little shells. It is worked on a background of reverse stockinette.

I used 217 yards (198 meters) of yarn to complete this panel.

Notes

I think the finished pattern looks best upside down, but you can place it either way in your throw.

If you’re using stitch markers to keep your place, you’ll need 5 to divide the 6 repeats. Add 2 more (7 total) if you plan to use them to mark the edges, too. Note that they will work beautifully on odd rows. However, they won’t line up with the asterisks (*) on the even rows of Little Blossoms Stitch. (You’ll finish each repeat 4 stitches past the marker.)

Stitch counts for each row include yarnovers on that row. Even though these stitches should not be counted till they are worked as stitches on the next row, I think it is easier to stay on track when they are included in the count.
