About Bunches of Grapes Stitch

Bunches of Grapes Stitch is named for the effect it creates, which mimics tiny bunches of grapes on a reverse stockinette background. For this panel, the bunches alternate with “blank” panels on what looks like a knitted checkerboard. This really showcases the drape of the grape bunches.

This stitch incorporates bobbles. The raised texture they provide are perfect for adding detail or interest on a plain stockinette or reverse stockinette background. For example, it would be a lovely detail trailing down the sleeve of a sweater.

These bobbles are simple, but the pattern can be time-consuming!

I used 249 yards (228 meters) of yarn to complete this panel.
