Just after finishing our hike on the Virginia Creeper Trail in Abingdon, Virginia, I spied the shop across the train tracks. (I knew it was close, but not that close!) And we were off!

A Likely Yarn

A Likely Yarn has made its home in Abingdon, Virginia for over a decade. And what a home it is! The adorable cottage and its blossoming garden can only hint at the treasures inside.

Look at this beautiful, handmade goodness. Something about the natural light falling on the hand knits makes the work seem even finer!

At A Likely Yarn, you can find local yarns from Lia Fibers (Abingdon), Miss Babs (Mountain City, Tennessee) and Unplanned Peacock Studio (Ferrum, Virginia).

These skeins and the accompanying pattern caught my eye. Have you ever seen a blue so lovely?

There are also several LYS staple yarns and adorable notions! I was really struggling with the fact that I did not need any of them.

Those yarn snuggles are too cute!

There’s a good bit of space for knit nights when they can be hosted. I could easily imagine a group of knitters and crocheters learning from each other around this table.

At this time, the shop still hosts events, but they are distanced gatherings held under the outdoor canopies.

If you aren’t local and aren’t passing by, you can hop in one of their virtual stitching sessions!
