Little Ladders Stitch

Little Ladders Stitch takes us back to basics with simple knits and purls. Once you’ve worked a few repeats, vertical columns begin to form! These are due to tension changes from the purls and are part of the simple magic of knitting!

Little Ladders Stitch is worked across multiples of 6 stitches and is not reversible.

For a very similar stitch (without vertical columns), see Caterpillar Stitch.

Setup

Work 2 rows St st.

Stitch Pattern

Row 1 – k all
Row 2 – p7, *k2, p4* to last 5 sts, then k2, p3

Repeat these 4 rows until section measures 3.25″ (5.25″).

Finishing

Work 2 rows St st.

Leave your stitches on the needle for next week. Weave in your tails.
