FarmBurguesa: Best Burgers Ever

The best burger that I have ever eaten came from a tiny little shop in Vinton, Virginia called FarmBurguesa. I’ve had a few excellent burgers in my life, but none like this.

FarmBurguesa is an old school counter-style restaurant with an unassuming exterior. The small shop seats about a dozen diners. The burgers are cooked right in front of you!

FarmBurguesa prides itself in sourcing its ingredients locally. The food is definitely fresh! FarmBurguesa also puts a magical touch on its burgers by crafting creative ingredient combinations. From its daily menu to the Burger of the Month, all of the options are unique and inspired.

COVID-19 restrictions limited capacity inside the restaurant, prompting the removal of all barstools.

The Macho Cowboy is the burger I tried first. It’s a double burger with cheddar, onion rings, maple bacon, and barbecue sauce. It was a fairly safe choice for me and it was delicious. I’m well past the days of being able to finish two burger patties, though!

My sister loved the Caprese, a burger topped with pesto, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze.

FarmBurguesa doesn’t have a kids’ menu, but they offer a plussed-up cheeseburger (Tres Quesos) that was perfect for my littles. All three of them also devoured the waffle fries. We shared a generous side of tostones (twice-fried plantain patties). The tostones are delicious as a side dish, but they’re also the feature of the Toston burger. On it, they are used to replace the traditional burger bun!

My absolute favorite burger from FarmBurguesa was the Hawaii 5-0, offered as December 2020’s Burger of the Month. A spicy-sweet burger, the Hawaii 5-0 is topped with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. The final touches are a grilled pineapple ring and house-made diablo barbecue sauce. The sauce was perfect, not overly spicy and not at all sweet, and was a perfect complement to the pineapple ring. I still have dreams about this burger!
